Smithfield Polska and Polish Red Cross join forces for Christmas

On December 17, more than 1000 people took part in a special Christmas meeting organized by the Polish Red Cross (PCK), with support of Smithfield Polska, Animex Foods and Agri Plus.

The event took place in Lublin at Po Farze Square, where people in need, lonely and affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine were invited to spend the time together at a Christmas table. The meeting was held thanks to the engagement of the division of PCK from Lublin, many volunteers from CZAS Grupa SIM PCK Lublin and Humanitarian Aid Group from PCK Lublin, as well as the support of Smithfield Polska. Together, they created magical moments for all participants, creating a unique evening full of emotions and surprises.

The meeting was accompanied by a family atmosphere. Everyone present was working hand in hand to create Christmas decorations, decorating the Christmas tree and whispering wishes in the ear of Santa Claus, who promised to fulfill them all. As part of the Christmas village there was a Morliny food truck which provided participants with more than 600 portions of a hot meal.

“Our commitment to helping local communities includes not only ad hoc actions, but also long-term initiatives aimed at improvement of lives of people in need. Smithfield Polska, Animex Foods and Agri Plus jointly support charitable organizations by sharing the produced food. We hope that this first Christmas meeting organized together with PCK will become a beginning of a continuous cooperation for doing the good” – says Łukasz Dominiak, Public & government relations Director at Smithfield Polska.

During the event, one could also meet volunteers who collected funds for the action #GodneŚwięta.  in the area. In only a few hours they manager to collect almost 6 thousand zloty. This spontaneous action proved how strong the solidarity and willingness to help among the residents is.
