Smithfield Polska, the national leader of the meat sector, partnered the 67th International Congress of Meat Science and Technology (ICoMST) in Cracow. On top of that, Smithfield Polska successfully put forward an initiative to invite Paulo Patruno, the Deputy Secretary General of the EU Meat and Poultry Processors CLITRAVI. Smithfield Polska following up the long-term strategy of strengthening cooperation between science and business, partnered the ICoMST Congress We actively joined selected debates, including discussions on the future and challenges of both meat business and science. – We are honoured to be here among the world leaders in science, administration and business. Our organisation has been supporting the development of education and research for many years, undertaking close cooperation with many universities in the country. We are aware of our position on the market and the responsibility for good cooperation between producers and scientists. Moreover, Smithfield Polska’s participation in the Congress fits perfectly into our sustainable development policy and supports the goals of the United Nations in this respect, emphasised Łukasz Dominiak, Public and Government Relations Director. – Participation in this year’s congress is a great opportunity for our organisation to exchange experiences with partners from all over the world. We are constantly looking for new development opportunities, turning into improved and innovative products we can offer. These interdisciplinary meetings provide us with an even better understanding of the science world, which is so important in our work – added Łukasz Dominiak. The ICoMST Congress has been organised since 1955, and is one of the most prestigious and awaited international meetings of the meat industry. Currently, the event gathers over 550 participants from around the world, focusing on the presentation of the latest results in individual scientific disciplines, an overview of works and the latest knowledge about meat. Due to the epidemic situation, Cracow congress was held in a hybrid system. Japan will be hosting next year’s ICoMST edition.
